Meet the S-Class DIGITAL

Before the full reveal of the 2021 S-Class in September, Mercedes prepares for the reveal of its MBUX system, July 8.

It won’t be long until we all see the 2021 S-Class roll up to a studio stage for its world debut. Already, we’ve seen a teaser of its face, a handsome mug befitting its status as Mercedes’ flagship. The suspense is killing us here at MBWorld, though. With all that’s going on right now, we could use some wonderful news from our favorite automaker.

Turns out our wish (and yours) will be granted. If you don’t mind getting up early, that is. Motor1 reports Mercedes is set to reveal the tablet-like MBUX system found on the new W223 S-Class July 8 at 5:30 a.m. Eastern in a series of shorts called Meet the S-Class DIGITAL.

“The new S-Class is packed with groundbreaking innovations and takes individual mobility in the luxury segment to a whole new level. We developed the Meet the S-Class DIGITAL series to provide media representatives with information on the key highlights in advance of the world premiere,” said Mercedes communications boss Katja Bott. “It enhances the successfully established Meet Mercedes DIGITAL news format, which will present other new products and company developments in further episodes published in parallel.”

The three-part series about the tech in the new S-Class will be released in full over the course of the next month. The second episode, airing July 29, focuses on safety and comfort. The third and final short, scheduled August 12, will show off all the luxurious details of the interior.

The star of the first show, however, is the massive MBUX touchscreen. According to Motor1, the screen appears similar to the 17-inch unit in Tesla’s Model S and Model X, though dimensions are unknown for now. The episode will cover the new ways to interact and customize the MBUX experience.

As for where to watch, you can bookmark the special Mercedes me portal right now. There’s already a video featuring Mercedes board management member Markus Schäfer seated within the hybrid variant of the new S-Class. All three episodes will be hosted on the Mercedes me portal.

It’s exciting to see what will come of the S-Class. We just can’t wait until September, though.
