Rumor has it Mercedes-Benz’s AMG is considering another high-performance standalone model along the lines of the hot AMG GT S. Except this one will be inspired by the brand’s F1 car, possibly packaged as a new mid-engine hybrid.

For the first time since 2004, Mercedes topped all other luxury car companies in quarterly sales.

At a recent shareholders’ meeting, Mercedes-Benz confirmed they plan to have 10 new models equipped with hybrid powertrains by next year.
