The Mercedes-Benz SL has been at the top of the luxury gran touring roadster segment for decades, and although this particular model has always targeted mature buyers, the 2017 SL450 is indeed very young at heart.

In an ad that even ’50 Shades of Grey’ fans would find uncomfortable, Mercedes wrapped its new SL and Russian supermodel Natasha Poly in boa-constricting blue latex.

Based on these new spy shots we have, the SLC (née SLK) will be getting massaged, but nothing too dramatic is changing in the overall design.

Understated? Low key? Gray? It’s pretty normal to think of those words when talking about a Mercedes… Unless, you’re talking about Hamann’s Hawk. It’s loud. It’s garish. Most of all though, it’s very, very orange.
