Diesel and Portal Axles Make This the Ultimate Benz Battle Wagon

If you’re of a certain age, you’ll remember the game Twisted Metal. And if this car doesn’t remind you of something that would emerge from that game, then you’ll have to excuse the reference. Either way, it looks like a post-apocalyptic vehicle that’s ready for battle.

Not only does it look the part, but it’s got the right DNA, as well. According to Motor Authority, an Unimog chassis sits under the 300TE exoskeleton, giving it the ground clearance to climb over any and all enemies. Portal axles from the Unimog are also in play here, as well as a diesel straight-six.

Autobahn speeds probably aren’t possible any more, and judging by the hatch being removed, you won’t retain the usual comforts of the 300TE, either. Proof of that theory is confirmed when you look inside; it’s an interior by name only. Radios and carpets are gone, and it looks like you’ll have a quieter ride in the business end of a cement mixer.

But, does any of that matter? This thing is still undeniably cool. But there’s only one problem. It’s located in Lithuania. If you’re ambitious, you can snag it for yourself for just a bit over $5,000, but you’ll have to figure out how to get this literally grey import into the country.
