YouTuber Proclaims CLA 45 AMG a ‘Mini GT 63’

There’s nothing AMG can’t do. You want a 6×6 G-Wagen? With tons of power? AMG built it. What about a family truckster for the drag strip? AMG’s pulling up to your kid’s school in a cloud of tire smoke. Hot hatches? AMG did with the A45. Even the entry-level rides end up getting the Affalterbach treatment, like the CLA.
And speaking of the CLA, YouTuber Benjamin Sila recently reviewed the AMG CLA 45 at his local Benz dealer in Draper, Utah. To him, the top-tier take on the coupe is it’s “the Mini GT 63.” Let’s find out why.
“This is a brand new CLA 45 AMG,” Sila said. “I’ll show you guys all the exterior features of this CLA 45, take a look at the interior, and listen to the sound from the engine.”
Outside, this CLA 45 is swathed in Digital White Metallic, which is trimmed in AMG Night Package’s black trim pieces. It also has an aero package to move the air to where it’s supposed to go while the coupe flies down the highway. The trunk lid lacks the electronic close feature, but the star-badge trunk release is trick. The front diffuser, too, is wild. The blocked-off left air intake prevents dirt from clogging the intercooler.
“On the interior, black leather,” said Sila. “Love the design on these seats […] These are very comfortable seats. Love this leather.”
The real magic, though, is the dual-screen gauge and infotainment system. Housed in a single display, everything you need to do or know is just a tap away. Or a twist of a dial on the steering wheel. Or, even, the touchpad on the console. Going through the driving modes presents custom graphics for each one, including a red-hot background for Sport and Sport+.
“Take a look,” said Sila. “Two-liter inline-four producing 382 horses with 354 pound-feet of torque […] This is actually the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engine in production.”
And of course, all of that power goes to the set of 19-inch wheels on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires through an eight-speed automatic. The combo sounds pretty bangin’, for sure, but there’s only one way to truly experience what the CLA 45 offers.
“It lets loose quick,” Sila said. “So responsive, actually. It feels a different type of style. It feels like it’s pulling it whichever direction you wanna go.”
The salesman riding shotgun adds that the faster one drives the CLA 45, the tighter the steering becomes. Thus, cornering is a breeze at higher speeds. In short, the latest AMG is performer for those with a smaller budget.
