What car should I get?

For my birthday my I am making my parents buy me a new car. I either want a Imola Red BMW X5 4.8is, Cayenne Turbo, 2005 Range Rover or CLK55/C55 AMG. I don't know which one to get! What's the difference between the CLK55 and the C55?

p.s. My mom already has a E55 AMG and I don't want people to think i'm driving a 'hand-me-down'

Thanks for the help!

BMW M3 Competition Package, the new M5 (or even the E39 M5), or a 6-series are all great combination daily driver/fun cars, if you don't already have a daily driver.

Whatever there's gas in...
X5 or Cayenne. But I like SUVs, even though I don't own many.

Why let your parents get off so cheap - make them buy you an Enzo Ferrari

I know it would be used, but see if you can get either a McLaren F1 or a CLKGTR AMG Street Version

I agree with the above posters, since you can "make" them buy you a car, get something really cool like an F430 or a Turbo Cab S. Unless you really can't make them do anything, in which case the AMG cars are fun and cool.

w/ all due respect to the cars mentioned in your list of choices..how can you compare a $100k car to a $60k one??? if you're able to coherse them to get you in the $100k range why even consider the C55?? like the rest of the board members 997 all the way!!!!!!! unless you need the four doors than M5

No, I've always used this screen name. I'm also 18, btw.

It has to be under $80,000! If I get the Cayenne Turbo, it will be used. I was looking for something with 4 doors or a 2 door with some room at the back. I like The 911, but it's too small!

Yea, I like the CLS55 but the Mercedes dealer near me is so snobby. They don't help me out unless I walk in with my parents so I have wait until my parents return.

The CLK is a 2-door and the C55 is a 4-door?

No question....you have to get the CL 65 AMG, it matches your username....

P.S: Make sure Daddy goes with you for the test drive, they may give you a hard time otherwise. Not many 18 year olds drive those cars.

I would ***** slap your old man. You said you could make him buy you a car. Smack the old man around a little and tell him your getting an S65. I can't believe you would take that kind of crap from him, 80K??? What the hell are you going to do with that, a used Cayenne Turbo? I would personally be very offended it my father had the audacity to buy me a used Porsche and try to tell me I can only spend 80K. You should really question whether he loves you at all....

Maybe its because you're 18 and don't have any money of your own to buy the cars youre looking at?

Do you have any pics of your moms car at all?

No that anyone else hasn't noticed, but you are an idiot of cosmic proportion. No one really cares about what your father can buy for you, if you have any self worth you would buy yourself a moped and come back in a few years when you can step up and pay for your own car. I for one would be more impressed with a Honda scooter you paid for than anything that your daddy would give you.

I swear that if I have kids, I'm selling everything and moving to a poor farming town and will never tell them anything about the family's finances. They'll learn what it's like to work for what they want.

Geez doods lighten up!!!! He didnt ask for your opinion about his parents indulgence, this is a CAR forum and he asked about CARS.

I'm all for working and paying your dues but accepting gifts from parents doens't preclude someone from one day accomplishing himself. I recently met an 18 year old kid the other day with a Ferrari and a Viper. He was kind, generous, intelligent, and appreciative of everything he had and i dont believe hes any worse for it (except maybe a skewed conception of money... something he'll hopefully never have to worry about).

Furthermore, why care enough to make a comment? i'm sick of hearing from people about the caveats of overindulging your children. whether it stems from jealousy, or ideals, i dont know, but don't go around prejudging someone because they've had a different upbringing / experience.

i know plenty of well-adjusted adults that were spoiled, and i know plenty of *****s that made it for themselves. doesn't matter at the end of the day so long as the heart is in the right place!

</rant>

Get the Cayenne Turbo. The X5 is great but its due for a remodel soon. The RR looks good but it blows as a car (i have an older RR and it blows... the newer one is marginally better.... still underpowered, still has terrible road behavior). The CLK55 is nice though, very fast.
