Back on topic: For 80,000, I would get a new 6-series, Cadillac XLR, Lotus Elise, or a used SL500.

Your mom drives an E55!? Wow! If I was a car, I'd hate to be owned by some soccer mom, running errands and window shopping all day with 479hp under the hood just screaming to be let loose...just once in awhile!
lol j/k...I don't know if your mom really likes driving fast cars and if she drives them hard and fast...then good for her!
I'd agree with some others about the M5. If your parents are going shell out $80K for a car, then pitch a fit and show them you REALLY want the M5 (if that's what you think you'll like) and they'll give it to ya.

PS I think you're right about not getting a C55 since your mom drives it's "bigger brother" - that would be kinda be lame but then your mom could think the C55 looks "really cute" (being smaller and all) and want it and give you the E55! Ahhh Haaa!
