Can't speak for the greens. I actually put in K&Ns. As for the K&Ns, I obviously didn't dyno the car, so there's no "number" I can put on it. I just bought the car and it's the only thing I've changed from stock. Having said that, the car definitely sounded more "throaty" after I put in the filters. That's not to say I'm actually putting anything more to the ground (haven't really noticed a difference), but I do like the new sound. IMO, that's worth the $80.

So, let's put this out there, has anyone ever seen a dyno before and after a K&N or green filter install on the beast? I'd be curious to know the results.

If anyone is interested, I have a set of green air filters for sale. Part number is 2247. They were in my car less than a week before the car had been sold and they are in perfect condition. I paid $129 + ($20 w/tax/shipping) and will let them go for only $75 + shipping.
If interested PM me.

Thanks!

I think it would also be a good idea to wrap the tubes with some thermo heat wrap to complete the package?

Well install is easy as pie. Takes a little while because of the torx screws, but other than your shoulder getting tired, it is a breeze. Took about 45 minutes going slow (Double checked everything). Hopefully it proves to be a worth while mod. If anything, I have piece of mind knowing these filters look 10 times cooler.

I did mine by hand the first time and it was a pain in the butt. When I took them out I used a drill with the torx attachment and it took about 5 minutes to get it all done.

There is no benefit to wrapping anything under the hood. As soon as you are moving, the IAT's drop to essentially ambient. Sounds like a good idea, but really, only the tubes themselves get hot.

Has anyone used ITG filters? I used them in my Pcar and racecar with great success. IMHO they are far superior in performance than any cotton/paper filter on the market.

They are VERY good. We used them in all of our race cars. They are pretty expensive about $300 for 2. I do not know if the have an application for the w211 yet. When/If they do, it will be the only filter I put in this car!

K&N & BMC (same as Green) we found flowed better when brand new. But once they had a race or two on them their flow rate fell way off compared to the foam. (Even after cleaning/re-oil. they just were not the same as new) If you want the best filtration go with paper. If you want the best flow "when brand new" go with cotton. If you want the best of both worlds go with ITG foam. The flow and filtration is much better (consistent) over the long run.
