Green Filters Installed

Here's a sneak peek at the engine bay, higher quality pics will follow in a couple days (car is in service again, will report that after all is said and done ).

When you get the car back, give us your impressions of any performance gains with the new filters. Would love to hear feedback from someone who actually has them on their car.

I actually drove the car around a little bit yesterday (~5miles) before the mishap happened (ESP light sprung on). The throttle seemed to be a little more responsive according to the butt dyno.

Do Green Filters require any maintenance after install? How about pre-install, are they like K&N where you need to lube them first?

I'd like to order them from Euroteck as well, just concerned about the above.

It was pretty easy to install the filters. You just need a torx screw driver. The CF airbox was a little bit more challenging since the clamps need to be replaced.

They come pre-oiled, and you don't have to recharge them until you hit 50,000miles

best thing to do is jus throw em out at 50,000 miles and get a new set, that way you dont have to worry about oiling them to little or to much

I just installed mine this morning. I got them from http://www.euroteckmotorsports.com/ (They still did not remove that damn music).

All I can tell you so far is that they are a beautiful shade of green.

My butt dyno is not well enough calibrated to tell if there is much of a difference. I will be heading to the track soon to see if they make any real world difference.

I wanted to post a few pics of the very simple install process. Believe it or not, you don't have to be Vrus or Grumppy to coplete this modification.

First, remove the front plastic engine cover (picture one). It is held by three clips and will pop off when you pull on it.

Second, back out the six screw on each of the air boxes as shown in picture two. They do not have to be completely removed. Just back them out enough so the superior part of the boxes becomes detached.

Third, insert your two pretty green filters (picture three), then put every thing back together again.

If you aren't using a drill, #2 is key to follow! I backed those screws out all the way on one side with a regular torx screwdriver and my hand was killing me.

At least I realized it then and only backed them out half way on the other side. Those screws are pain...

I have been reading about these green filters.....have anyone check to see if they make more power than K/N,or make any power at all?
I have found out that in these late model cars the stock filters makes as much or more than some of these aftermarket filters.
