CALLING ALL SO. CAL CL's!!!
Hey guys I'm new to the forum so I don't "know" any people on this site, but saw this thread for a meet set up in HB in August(8 26 06)...I think it's just gonna be a bunch of C and E classes there. My idea was to have as many local CL owners show up, that way we can all share war stories amongst fellow CL owners. As an idea, maybe even meet close by just beforehand and roll in together...could be cool.

Hey!
What's up guys...good to see an early response.
If a few more CL owners are interested, we can meet at one of the half-dozen spots that are close by the park that would serve as a good pre-meet location.
Whether or not we decide to meet up before hand and with whatever number of CL owners end up showing, I think that the idea of sharing info about your W215 triumphs, troubles, joys, dreams, and heartaches even with two or three local owners will be worthwhile and possibly fun.

It might be a good idea to post on the CL55/65 forum as well. There was recently a thread titled, 'How many CL drivers are in the South Bay Area?' where a lot of CL owners responded. I'd do it, but I don't want to steal your idea of a CL get-together. Also, maybe we can have a pre-meet at a restaurant and have breakfast.

Just added one more. So where are all the San Diego CLs? And are there no Santa Barbara or San Francisco CLs? Get a group together and caravan down the coast.

You're right, the nametags would be good-lame, but necessary, and would make everyone more recognizable and approachable.
I volunteer BENZGal to head that up.
No one is allowed to take them off till it's over...and as long as everybody wears them, it won't be that lame.

Look forward to seeing both rides in August, the SL will have to wait outside the door when we snap the CL shots.
One of my friends is a professional photographer and I'm going to have him show up with a pro camera (digital) we'll be able to share the shots via email...it should be pretty cool.

Sorry about the delayed update.
Here is a shot of the backdrop for our CL shot.
The location is 2501 Cliff Dr., Newport Beach. (It's about 15 minutes away from the meet.)
(Small parking lot overlooking Lido Isle)
After taking a few shots with different car positions we'll have heads turning as we take the quick ride up PCH to the meet at the park in H.B. by 12:00.
If we're all there by 11:00 a.m. it should work out.
See you guys there. From the last posts it seems we have 8? Sound in if you plan on bieng there. (We need to know how many for the wide lens, set-up, ect...)

You are right about saving the spot, luckily I live like across the street. When you see the cones, delineators, and "police line do not cross" tape you know you are in the right spot...I'll make sure we save about 8 spots.

Wow, I went to the Summerfest forum to sign up to bring some hamburger patties, and you already volunteered to bring them all. That's awesome! So I got stuck with pasta salad and cut fruit as I don't own a cooler for the sodas.
To PM someonw, click on their username and a pull-down menu will appear. Click on "send a private message to xxx". But I don't know how to send mass PMs. Maybe someone on this board knows?
As far as your signature, click on your own username, click on view public profile, click on User CP, click on Edit Signature, and paste the link to where your picture is. Looking forward to next Saturday!
