rear window not going up question

rear window not going up question
Hi all,
My right rear window all of a sudden will not go up fully. It was fine tilll today. It goes up but stops @ approximately 2 inches from completely closing.
1.) Is there a manual way of closing it?
2.) What could possibly be the problem?
Any info and or suggestions on a fix is much appreciated.

Sounds like the window regulator (Mercedes term for the lifting arms) have warped or bent so that the won't extend fully. As the parts are made of aluminum, it's a known issue of them binding over time. You'll need to remove the door panel (10 minutes with a screwdriver, release the inside door handle and careful lifting of the panel) to get to the waterproof sheet and then the interior of the door. You might be able to lube it into operation, otherwise you might be looking at replacing the regulator.

window problem
Thanks MTI for your reply. I removed the panel and checked the regulator and the cables and the only thing that I can see that can be wrong is that the cable seems to be very tight. There are also NO signs of the cable coming off from its reel or roller.I will grease the regulator or rails and cables and see what happens.
If anyone else has any other suggestions pls feel free to throw em in.
