No Spark !?!?!?

Hello Everyone,

After putting the engine back in my brothers 88 190E 2.3 I am not able to start the car. It cranks fine, there is plenty of fuel pressure, plenty of oil pressure, but no spark. I can literally stick a screwdriver in the plug from the coil that goes to the distributor and there isnt a spark! I have tested the starter and it tests ok. I have done the tests from the Haynes manual for the ignition system and it checks ok so far. Anyone have any clues? I really need to get this car running.

Thanks,
-- Steven

Of course ! hehe

Yeah . I went over everything and made sure it was all plugged in. I even checked the crank and flywheel sensors to make sure i didnt do the wrong ones to each. This is driving me nuts. I have taken the engine out twice in the past month and it ran fine after I put it back together.

Thanks,

Ground Strap

Well if you mean the one that goes from the tranny bellhousing to the bolt around the inside of the driverside tire, I did it. I am not sure what good it does to ground out the tranny bellhousing, but thats how i had it hooked up before.

Thanks

The ground on the tranny is for the engine (starter, sensors, etc).

Check your Crank sensor (AC and resistance) and make sure that it has a snug fit to EZL. I've seen so many loose connections that cause no starting or stalling. Use a sharp tool to bend connector (sensor side) for a tight fit.
