1987 Mercedes 190E 2.6
Issues with my car

If it's not one thing, its another. Here is my probelm which I could use some help. After the car sits over the weekend and I start it up, it takes about 3-5 turns to get it going. After it dances around like its going into a seizure, I place it into drive and it dies. I start it again and it holds only to die again in drive. I changed the spark plugs and wires. Changed all the fuses. Use only good gas with cleaners. I don't think its mistimed as it finally goes ok after about 30 minutes of starting and dying. What could it be?

Check the cold start valve near the center of the injectors.

This sounds very similar to a problem we wer having with our old '89 Chevy Beretta. For the longest time we couldn't figure it out, then we talked to this one guy and he told us it's a sensor that has to do with the overdrive transmission. We had the same exact symptoms, it'd start ok, then put it in drive and it dies instantly. It doesn't do it in neutral, just drive, reverse, Low, and 2. Anyway, it was the overdrive sensor that was causing the problem, so we unhooked it. This worked out great, the only difference is lower gas mileage.
