White Smoke Everywhere!
Hey All-
I was driving home today, and stopped at a light, when white smoke comes billowing out from under the hood. I get out, and liquid is leaking out like crazy. I think it's antifreeze, but I guess it could have been oil, but it was greenish, but also kind of reddish and liquidy. It wasn't really viscious like oil.
Anyway- what does this sound like to you all? Overheating? Busted gasket? Expensive repair? Relatively cheap? Should I sell it for parts? Please help! I have to go to the mechanic tomorrow and I wnat to come armed at least looking like I know something about it.
Also, can anyone recommend a good mechanic in south philly?
Thanks!

Need to know where you see it leaking from? Sounds to me like Antifreeze! But if you see red it may be tranny fluid as well! Do you have an automatic tranny? Anyhow, let us know the answers and we can help more!

My guess it is anti freeze. The cheap version any of the hoses busted. The more expensive version the waterpump died. A little more expensive, if the radiator has a leak. The reddish coulor is corrosion residue out of the radiator. Dont worry normally the E260 are reliable engine which dont tend to fatal damages, as long as you don't drive the car after what happened!!!!!

Thanks guys! Turned out to be the hose. I took it to my local MB mechanic, and he's gonna fix me up good. When we popped the hood, there was antifreeze spraying everywhere.
Quick question- if this hose had been leaking for a while, will that have caused my AC not to work? Just wondering...
