Ignition switch....again?
Hello all-- I am having a repeat of a previous problem, and am wondering if it just never got taken care of properly.
When turning the ignition key to the off position, the dash lights stay on, and sometimes the car just stays running. I can even take the key out and she just keeps putting along. I replaced the electrical (back) part of the ignition switch, and that took care of this problem the first time...but now the problem is back again, only a couple months later. Should I try to replace the entire unit? Could there be any other reason...? I suppose it could just have a wiring ghost, but why would have replacing the back part of the ignition switch have cured it for a couple months?
Any help is appreciated.
BTW, this is a 1986 190D 2.5
Thanks, Frank
