Buying a used 190E 2.6?
Hello everyone,
I'm considering buying a 1992 190E 2.6 with 88,000 miles. It was a one owner car, and seems to be in great condition. I'm bringing it to be inspected tomorrow before I make any decisions on weather I want it or not. I was already told that it needs a head gasket.
So I was wondering if there are any other issues that are common on these vehicles that I should know to have checked out?
Thanks,
Brian

I drive a 1991 190e 2.3 and I also own a 2001 ML320
Head gasket change is not a common problem in this cars. Not at 88k miles at least. Whoever had the car probably ran it hot a few times. Head gasket change due to overheating can be costly as you probably already know. for a 2.6 its not as costly as for a 2.3 but you're taking 1500-2500 dollars depending on wheather you need valve adjustments or not. Good luck with your new car. The're great if you take care of them
