It would seem a crying shame to break up a good car just for the sake of a small transmission problem. I would be inclined to give the transmission an overhaul - new brake bands, valves, seals and filters - or maybe swap for a known good one from a wreck. A transmission specialist should be able to do the work easily eough if you really can't be bothered.
If you are determined to get rid of the car then I would be more than happy to acquire a 'project' to work on. It all depends on location, engine size and what money you are expecting. 18-year-olds which aren't running right aren't exatly worth a fortune.

if you are still parting it out I need the small A/C blower push knob that goes left to right, etc, mine just broke off, can I get that?
