190e hesitation problems

First of all do not adjust the pressure regulator because it is factory adjusted. If you adjust it the performance of the car will vary
The problem is in the fuel distributor, the fuel distributor plunger may be marked or scorred. Before doing anything check the air fuel ratio or known as LAMBADA. It should be at 50%, plus or minus 5. If it is ok, check the fuel distributor - make sure that when you remove the fuel distributor there's a nut to undo the plunger. First tighten the plunger nut and see how many turns it takes to tighten the plunger. Then undo the nut and take the plunger off and see if it is marked. If it is marked polish the plunger with cutting compund only. Clean it nicely and put it back and tighten the plunger nut. When its fully tightened, undo the plunger nut to the number original turns, otherwise the air flow meter disc may have too much clearance, or even, to little clearance, and will affect the starting process. If you the above, you must re check the lambada.
Did you notice when you removed the spark plugs, did it have oil burning??
It is a common problem, and you must replace the valve stem seals or the valve guides.
If you touch the regulator screw, you need fuel pressure gauges to adjust the fuel pressure. So do not touch it !
I suspect the fuel distributor may be the problem.
Anyway, make sure the injector seals do not leak any air.
TO check that when the engine is running pour a little bit of water round the injectors and even on the inlet manifold. If the engine starts to run rough, you can suspect that the manifold gasket is leaking or the injector seals are leaking.
I hoped that helped

Joe
