'93 2.6 Engine hesitation @ low RPM's

Ok, my car hesitates to the point of almost stalling when I am either completely stoped or the car is going less then 20 MPH. In other words if RPM's are less then 1800 and you press on the accelerator all the way, the car goes nowhere. In fact it feels as if it is going to stall.............anything beyond 2000 RPM and the responce is normal.
It will not hesitate if I barely press the accelerator when below 1800 RPM's and build up from there??

Any clues as to what might be the problem??

When was the last tune-up? The last time you used fuel injection cleaner? Last time the O2 was changed? How does it start cold and warm?

Check for vacuum leaks as well as this is common when you have them.

Sorry for the delay

OK, well I bought the car just recently so I am not sure as to when the car had a tune-up. I do know that one of the spark-plugs is semi-lose and I see a bit of a spark (towards the block from the spark-plug) here and there.

I am sure that the SP are not copper as required. The car has 129,000 and it starts rough some times. It'll start and then all of a sudden it will turn off.
But most times it starts off on the first time, just a little rough and sound unclean......it alost sounds like a diesel for the first few seconds.

I just added a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and changed the air filter along with the oil (went with mobil one synthetic).

The loss of power unly happens below 1800 rpms when you accelerate hard...........the car goes no where and then all of a sudden once the rpm's climb (really slow) pass 1800 the car will drive normal.............you need a very light foot if you are driving the car on a typical stop and go drive.

Hope that helps you guys.

Check your O2 sensor and check your air/fuel mixture. You can search the 190revolution forum or look in the stickies at the top of the General Main section on how to check those two things. Also could be a bad Water Temp Sensor, that is what tells the CIS-E fuel system management the Engine temp for cold starting fuel enrichment and increased idle, also tells it when the engine is at temp so air/fuel mixture is correctly controlled via the EHA and the IACV.
