1990 190e 2,6 CEL codes
Hello, I have a 1990 190e 2.6. I built a homemade code reader and I can pull codes. The MB manual says it should have an 8 pin diagnostic socket but I have a 16 pin socket! Only pins 1,3,6,7,and 14 are used and pin 1 is the ground pin. I think the pins are: pin 3 - CIS-E (fuel injection)
pin 6 - SRS
pin 7 - A/C (HVAC)
pin 14 - MAS engine control
I read the following codes:
Pin 3 =13,16
pin 6 =3,6,8
pin 14 =4,11,13
The codes from pin 3 and 14 mostly suggest disconnected plugs and a bad oxygen sensor. The codes from pin 6 are for the SRS. However, the CEL turns on at lower rpms and goes off at higher rpms. Thus the codes from pin 6 do not make sense. Any ideas?
