Question 190E'90 2.5-16V Transmission No Power

Hi guys, previously on this forum I asked about my 190E 2.3-16V I had found out the problem. My engine was mixed with water from the radiator. Now I have to look for parts eg. timing chain , piston, gasket dll. Now I have another problem on my the oher car. The 2.5-16V. I had spent 2 yrs on rebuilting this car (part of it was due to the waiting for the parts)

The problem that I am facing now is that when the car is on the slope, the car has no energy to push itself up to the slope. Beside that, when I do a kick down, the car was so slow until it changed to the 3rd gear and start to push itself. If anyone know what's the problem, please advice. ( I had ask workshop to check on the gear box, nothing is wrong)

Please kindly email your suggestion to info@emobil.net

Thank you

Assuming it's the automatic transmission, 722.4xxx, then the starting point would be to check the fluid level and filter, then the vaccum modulator on th side of the transmission, then after that, problem investigation goes internal, to the torque convertor, brake bands and hard metal parts.

Thank you for your reply. Checked the transmission, no problem with it. I have not check the torque covertor, brake bands and hard metal parts ( which hard metal parts do you refer too?)

The best way to describe the term "hard metal parts" in a transmission . . . there are typically 2 types of transmission rebuild kits sold. The first is a "banner kit" that includes all the paper and rubber seals, metal clad seals, gaskets and clutch frictions. The more expensive "master kit" also includes the clutch steel, such as the K and B pistons and bands.
