Why swap just the head, and not the whole short block as well? Given the twincam setup, you'll need to change out the timing chain; likely need to rework or replace the pistons (compression, stroke, valve pockets) and probably the con rods, possibly the crankshaft. Then there's the whole fuel management system. A whole engine transplant from a donor car that has all the electricals might be less costly.

I just got my hands on a 1982 twincam 6 cyl (euro motor)!! How much would be needed for me to be able to put this in my 1989 W201 2.6? Would the trans that I have work with this motor? Anything and everything you guys know that would help please let me know!
