92 190e 2.6-Dashboard wont light! HELP
I have a 1992 190e with 131xxx miles on it. An excellent car-runs good etc. For some strange reason my dashboard won't light up at night anymore. I've changed the fuse (under the hood). They still won't come on. Any ideas? Did I change the incorrect hood by chance? Please help me-this is driving me nuts. Please email agilmore@travelers.com Thanks

No luck
I've tried everything...still no lights on dash. I tried screwing around with the clock setting knob-and the trip ometer setting knowb--nothing. I changed a fuse or two under the hood--still nothing. Not sure what else it could be...HELP!

The entire instrument cluster package is on the circuit with fuse No.9, but that one is typically "bridged" with No. 10, a red 16A fuse. Have a look at those positions, check the fuse with a circuit tester or ohm meter, not visually, since those fuses can "look good" but be bad.
However, a bad fuse would usually mean that the whole cluster electrics would be out, not just the lighting. You may have a fault in either the rheostat that controls the brightness, or the headlight switch function.
