New owner - help needed
Hi folks,
A happy new year to all of you. I just started my year with buying a used 122k miles 190e 2.6.
Here's how it happened. I just moved to this country and was looking for a used car, drove the japanese cars the usual honda's, toyota's and then when was about to give up came across this Mercedes. My first reaction was heck-no, it would be a high maintaince stuff for me who is just starting out his life in a new country. But my wife said let's atleast take a test ride. And you can guess the remaining, we fell in love { with the car ;-) }.
It felt so different then all the other cars, and we bought it. Time will tell if it was impulsive and plain stupid or one of the best decision.
Anyways, I would be grateful if any of you from around Sunnyvale, CA can suggest some good mechanics to show the car too and just get a list of things it will/may need.
I know it needs a paint job any suggestions will be appreciated.
Also how do I figure out if it has ABS and "traction control"?.
Thanks, and have a great new year.

First, you can check the vehicle's production plate (on radiator support) and track the number for the accessories (ASD = 211; ABS = 470; ASR = 471). Second, you can ask your dealership's service department for a copy of the warranty and recall service records for the car, which will also provide some information, but not all, about the car's past. Third, there is also a Russian website that decodes VIN numbers, but there is a slightly different procedure for running the North American VINs.
