Replacing Cyl head gasket 190e 2.6 gas
Hello,
Just a quick question - do I remove the intake manifold bolts and separate it from the head before removing the head> The Hanes manual says to remove the entire assembly - head AND intake manifold but trhe looks like a heck of a job (and very heavy!) so I'm wondering if I should undi the intake manifold at the head instead.

It can be done either way. Supposedly you save on not having to renew the intake gasket, but they don't cost a lot. Leaving the intake runners on does give you a bit of leverage when breaking the gasket seal on the head.
Since pulling the head is not a thing you do every day, regardless of how you take it off, once it is off I would remove the intake anyway to do a visual inspection of the intake side ports and maybe contemplate some machine work.
