190e 2.6 Starter location?

Where is the starter located? Also is it hard to take out?

is a German Tank
Have you checked next to the transmission bell housing?

driver's side.

Be carefull not to poke around with any metalic objects, not unless you've unplugged the battery first.

What's it look like?(Bell Housing) Is it far down?

'85 190E 2.3-16 '99 C280 '11 GLK350
The starter is best approached from under the car, on the intake side of the engine. You'll be looking at the spot where the engine and transmission meet, since the starter is geared to the flywheel, located at the rear of the motor.

Ahh,... Hmmm. This 190e I have is junked and since the guy said the starter was new I was thinking of putting it on my 300e, both the same engines. Thanks for the info guys!
