Radiator Flush
Hey all,
The other day I took my 190e (2.3) to a shop (not MB) to get the radiator flushed. Preventive Maintenance !
They flat out rejected to do this service because they said they've had too many problems doing this![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
What exactly seems to be the tricky part in doing this?
What coolant does this MB car require?
I'm not mechanically ignorant so I'm considering doing this myself.
HELP!

Those mechanics are either idiots, or have already made enough money for this month's boat payments.
Flushing a W201 cooling system is no different than any simple system.
Mercedes uses a citric acid based flush, just like everybody else.
There are two coolants to consider using in the W201, the Mercedes labled jug or the Zerex G-05, diluted to 50% with distilled water. You many notice that the two jugs, except for the color of the plastic, are identical . . . as is the coolant. Care to guess why?![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I see you're the proud owner of 2 190e's.
What do you like about the car?
Me, personally I't my first benz, but already the best car I ever drove and it's 20 years old !!!
It feels so solid. Has enough power. Gets good gas milage and looks so classic.

Most Mercedes owners only regard the W201 as "der kinder benz," however true Mercedes fans know the importance of this particular model in Mercedes history and all the developments that started with this model that found its way into the rest of the cars for over 20 years.
