Differential repair or replace
Hi guys, it's about 1987 190D (auto, non-turbo). Noise from differential start to disturb me. Listening to the parts (I picked up car on stands and shifted in drive) I found that noise is coming from front bearing. I don't know how differential is built, just generally I guess there are 4 bearings. Also I know how to check/replace fluid but it doesn't help.
Now I am looking for kind of graphic manual that shows how differential is built. I am looking to undestand if it can be bearing replaced which will cost labour of repair, or to replace full block assembly. Adsitco sell it for 450, but they are not friendly in communication and don't let me know how much shipping, and if this differential includde bushing, or whatever. Just order it, we will bill you, and there are no returns. Anyway, they are only one source I know to buy full assembly.
But may be to change bearing is not complicated and I don't need to take apart EVERYTHING, and then to screw up with spacer adjustments or whatever.
Please guide!
