I have a 1992 190e that has been very well kept since new. The other day I was driving and when i turned the car off, i could hear the raditator making a boiling sound. Then when i started the car again, I noticed the temperature guage going towards hot. Someone told me this sounds like a thermostat gone bad. Please help. How much should something like this cost to fix? Is it a big deal?

Thanks

Yes, it could be a defective thermostat. Buy a new thermostat and O-ring (the O-ring might come with the thermostat), remove the 3 bolts that hold down the thermostat housing, remove old thermostat and O-ring, install new thermostat and O-ring. 10 minute job.
