Blower Motor Noise

Blower Motor Noise
Heater blower is starting to squeel. Car is a 90 W201 2.6L. Is it hard to get too and can it be lubricated or do I have to replace it? BTW it still works.
Thanks for any help..

The blower motor box is on the engine side of the firewall, beneath the leaf screen and usually requires the unbolting of the wiper assembly to gain access to the metal bands and clips that hold the box shut.
Some owners report that lubrication resolves the issue, but if the noise is a failing bearing or shaft, then lubrication won't do the job. Other say it's a temporary fix at best. Since you're going to have it apart . . . why not replace it.

I had the same problem. What I did was to remove the cover to the motor. I ran the motor and lubricated it. It worked for some time then the noise came back. If lubricating does not fix, then it is in need of replacing. You can find cheap motors on ebay and installation is not that hard.
