WTF? I'm scared...
Cold weather in Chicago has begun to let up as the past few days have been almost spring like for winter. Just setting the atmosphere for my car...
1989 190e 2.6 I love to death, scared me to death today.
I walk outside this morning to my car that has the tail lights on, the wiper moving, and the wiper fluid motor buzzing as loud as can be. No lie. I thought maybe I was drunk and left my keys in the ignition and left everything on?
Heres what I did. I charged my battery last night with an automatic charger that shuts off after the battery is fully charged. I started my car then went around and came home and this morning I see this.
I had to take a cable off my battery so my wiper motor wouldn't stop going and neither would my lights.
I feed her premium 93 all the time so I don't know why she should be mad.

Thanks MTI, how would I go about finding that or fixing this problem?
When I connect my battery back, the car turns on to the 2nd key position automatically then stops..then recurs, then off again for a while. When it does finally stop, the windshield wiper and motor goes.
I have to keep my battery cable off cause it won't stop.
Thanks bro.

Unless there's something obviousl (frayed wiring, dislodged connector, etc.) then it's probably more efficient to replace it with a known good one. You'll have to remove the steering wheel and then unscrew and clip the the plastic shroud around the steering column.

Well here is an update MTI, I just got around to taking my car in. When I tried to bring it in earlier, the car died and wouldn't start back up in addition to doing all those things. Anyway to avoid a tow I just tried everyday to get it started and this past thursday it ran and stayed running. So i brought it in and hopefully the mechanics will call me tomorrow. I'll let ya know whats goin on with my 190e.

I went to pick my car up today and here's what they did.
They changed/fixed the wires for wiper and lights. No more buzzing even where there is no key in the ignition. Lights don't go on anymore and what not. They also adjusted the co from i guess my car was running it at 22 and it was supposed to be at 52? I don't have the invoice at this moment as I left it in the person who gave me a ride to get my car.
The guy told me it was running rich and the normal co mixture should be at 52.
So I go to start the car and drive off...feels good...then about 1 mile down the road it dies and won't start up. Sounds realllly bad when you turn the key. So I get my buddy to push me back and the guy tells me its a vapor lock? He's gonna drain my tank and refill.
Whatcha guys think?

Got it back today.
Complete cleaning of gas tank. Too much sediment and apparently BP gas isn't that great. I thought it was okay. Mobile is the way to go, my mechanic said.
Thanks for all your feedback.

Wow, you are just about special aren't you? He says he runs 93 octane in his car, why does that make you think he's running **** gas? Sorry to bringup the past but you deserve to be told that you are just way out of line here. Dont blast people because you are so ignorant that you dont even know of a Gas Station chain that exists in another part of our country. BP has stations across the country and your simple arrogance and ignorance clearly shows that you are just some homebread idiot without the common courtesy to show a shed of respect for your fellow human being.
