New grill came in, one problem.
New grill finally came in today. Looks good. It has the same styling as the new c class. Chrome strips with the grey. It lookds really nice. Its getting painted all black anyay but it still lookds nice.
Only one problem. When I put it on. I cant open my hood. It blockes the lever for my secondary hood release. So I have to remove that lever.
What are the chances my hood is going to fly open while going down the highway? I checked the hood latch now and it seems to be on snug. I dont see a problem with this.
Anyone else have this problem when they ordered a new grill with the updated insert?

Ok. Tools needed-
Pliers,
Mini sledge,
Flat head screw driver,
Hand held blow torch-
30 minutes later, I got the secondary hood latch off. Now my grill fits and my hood works just fine =)
Pics to come soon. I have to paint the new grill.

If you notice in the pics, under the headlight, A piece of the bumper missing and a dent. Some one hit me the other day and didn't even leave a note. I have the piece from the bumper and when I get the entire car painted all black, they said they can put it back. It broke off pretty clean.

Personally i have never had any problems with mine, but i know it was an issue. I just modified the lever with a dremel to channel into the grille more. Some members have just notched the grille slightly so as not noticable. I wouldnt advice against removing the secondary lock.
As far as the bumper, spend the hundred dollars or so and get a new one, if its going to be painted anyway i wouldnt trust plastic weld for a piece as large as you have missing.

The piece thats missing i actually have. It broke off pretty clean so they said the can just glue it or something and smooth it out. The part that will be noticeable will be the actual black bumper part will have a dent but I don't really care that much.
Thank for the info tho =)
