1989 Mercedes-Benz 109e 2.6
1989 190e 2.6
im am looking at a car locally in my town. it is a 1989 190e with the 2.6 I6. it has almost 180,000 miles. it is in pristine condition. what are somethings to look for before buying this car. i know the basics like a/c works and all that good stuff. i have heard nothing but good stuff about these cars. but what are some common problems with the car. oh yeah it is an automatic. here are some pics. this car has been babied. the interior is flawless. what kinda price should he be asking then ill tell you how much he wants.

Mostly you should be looking for any mechanical or electrical problems. Check every electrical thing no matter what it is. Trust me, something small can lead to something big. Also one, thing you should know about these cars is that they have a plastic tray/shield on the bottom of the engine bay underneath the car. This tray catches any fluids the car may leak. So when you look under the car make sure to look on the plastic tray/shield for leaked fluids like oil or coolant. Hope that helps. Great car. Had mine for about 3 months and its the best car i bought i swear.
