Coolant leak

I searched around and couldn't find anything about this specific issue so here goes:

I just picked up a '90 2.6 and it's got a pretty bad coolant leak. It's coming from what appears to be a vent tube above the transmission, behind the bell housing on the right. I figured it must be the heater core, but there's not coolant in the car (no smell and dry floors). The tube is formed and looks for all the world like it's supposed to be venting coolant. Any thoughts or ideas?

Turns out it was the inlet heater valve. $20 part from carquest and 5 minutes worth of work= no more coolant leak.

Smile Coolant Leak

This is a special thanks to wreckedrex! Your solution to the coolant leak was right on the money and I do mean right on the money. The technician I talked to wanted to tear out the dash and head for the heater core. This website and do-it-yourselfers like you are the best. Again thanks a million!
