Cars Running Rich and then Lean
Mercedes 190E 2.6 - 1989
I'm having trouble with my car. In the winter the car runs lean. I have to keep pumping the gas pedal for the car to move. In the summer the car runs rich. I have black smoke coming from my tail pipe, strong smell of gas and bad gas mileage. It runs fine in the spring and fall.

Well, I guess you've got a two season car.
What kind of ambient temperature differential is there between the good running and the poor running?
Have you inpsected the electrical connections to the engine temp sensors and the condition of the vacuum lines for the fuel system?
