Engine won't stay running - solution
Hey guys, just FYI, in case you have a condition where the engine cranks strong, and even momentarily starts, but will not stay running -
Just had this problem, and in my particular case it was caused by the BOTTOM vacuum hose popping off the neck of the idle air control valve.
Unlike the upper vacuum hose, it's difficult to see that lower hose because it's underneath the manifold. About the only way to get your hand in there to check it and make sure it's on good is to temporarily remove the oil filter in order to get at it.
Replaced the hose with a new one and all is fine now. The vehicle is a 190E 2.3 by the way.
Regards, Mike
