Exclamation help!

i have a mercedes 190e 2.3 16 cosworth do i seriously have to remove the engine and trasmission at the same time!? all data says they come out as an assembly im just seplacing the clutch.

The engine bay is big enough to remove the two units together, but you can just drop the trans if you can the car up high enough, like on a lift.

im in school we have lots of lifts but everywhere i go tells me to remove them as an assembly

I have never worked on one, but you could always just try to removed the transmission. If it works great if not...

I recently replaced a flex disk and noticed that the trans is in there tight, can you back it up enough to get the input shaft out.

ill romove everything if i have too i havent tried yet, today im going to take off all the trans mounts support it with a floor jack and lower the trans an inch or two so i can swing a wrench under there, i cant get the top bolt off the slave

I just put a ring gear in mine and it is no problem pulling the tranny out by itself, alittle tight, but not a problem with the right tools.
