suspension
i have an 86 2.3 16 valve im going to replace the shocks and struts, it has the sls system in the back and im assuming thats why web sites that sell 190e struts and springs but say the products are for all 190e models except 2.3 16 valve. but if i plan on taking out the sls system and close it off for good cant i just buy struts and springs that fit 190e models and put them in??
thanks - brian

yes thank you i plan to completely remove the sls, so if i buy "sport" shocks and springs it will still be high in the back? and because of the sls thats why parts provides say the 16 valve is excluded in the fitment?

The front coil springs on the 2.3-16 lower the car about a half inch, while the SLS rear hydraulic shocks level the car out along with the helper springs.
When you delete the SLS, the rear suspension will need shocks and springs. If you use the OEM parts, the rear will be appear "lifted" since the front springs are lower than OEM.
If you're going to get lowering springs at all four corners, with the sport struts and shocks, it will be lower than the 2.3-16, but should be "level."
