190 2.0E and 2.6E suspension differences
Hi, I need info on the suspension differences for a 190 2.0E tuning project. If I make the suspension on my 190 2.0E identical with the 2.6E I can get the car approved with 199bhp (166+20%), and If I make it identical with 2.5-16 I can get the car approved with 234bhp (195+20%).
But I know there's a lot of differences on the 2,5-16 and 2.0E so that would be an expensive conversion, so I aim for the 2.6E as it seems that the only difference is front brakes and maybe the sway bars.
So I hoped some guru in here knew the differences on an old W201/190 2.0E from 1982-1986 and 2.6E '86+. Or has acces to a complete parts list for each model that determines if it uses same partnumbers or not.
Brakes front 2.0E: 262x46mm solid discs
Brakes front 2.6E: 262x44,5mm vented discs
Brakes rear: The same (258x55,5mm solid discs)
Front sway bar 2.3E : thickness=22mm
Rear sway bar 2.3E : thickness=13mm
Swaybars 2.0E+2.6E = ???
Springs: The same
Shock absorbers: The same (not sure, but if the springs are...)
Swaybar bushes and other bushes = The same?
Summary : If the swaybars are the same thickness, then I only have to fit front brakes from an 2.6E to make the suspension identical?
Other question. Is there any bolt-on gearbox with LSD for the 2.0E engine? If you take the one from 2,3-16 do you have to implement the ASR (electronic controlled differential) as well or can you leave that out?
Thanks,
Nicklas
