instrument cluster red light socket thing!?!?!?!
ok, so my HVAC and blower motor switch illumination lights did not work i checked the bulbs via ohm meter and then verified with jumper wires, i found wiring diagrams and found what pins were power in and out of the rehostat i have power in and out, jumped power from rehostat in to HVAC and blower motor switch, lights work, pulled instrument cluster apart, and could not find anything wrong with the circuitry and etc, anyways long story short there is this little red socket that is a 1/4 turn just like all of the other clusters lights, well in the red socket was what looked almost like a piece of printed circuit board but almost looks like it could be some sort of fuse, well, does anyone know what is this called, where can i get one, or what i can replace it with??? thank you very much for your time.
here is a picture of it

search on partsgeek.com or germanautoparts because thats your problem. Be glad that your car has that unlike my 86 16V in the middle of winter last year, and have to rewire the whole cars constant and illumination

thanks C, ill look around, yeah i jumped that socked and installed it into the cluster and then my hvac lights started working, i suppose i could just keep the jumper in the socket and leave it like that, but im still curious is that some sort of circuit protection device?? thanks again C
