Warning light mystery & dead Tachometer

I recently bought a 1985 190E 2.3. Great little car! However a strange red warning light comes on intermittently in the right set of dash warning lights, between the anti-lock light and seat belt light. It is not marked, and I don't have the manual to look it up. Any one know what it is?
Also, the tach and clock do not work, but everything else does. Ideas?
Thanks!

the clocks rarely work in these oldies. Check the back connections to the cluster. Just remove the left vent and surround, center vents and surround, and pull it out a little and see if everything is connected. Main plug is on the left side and is circular
