Lookin for some advice on my first MB

Hey guys,

I'm gonna be buyin my first Mercedes soon and I'm hopin you gius could give me some assistance here. Quick back story, I used to be big into fox body mustangs and owned an 86 Mustang. Then my mom got a w210 e320 and ever since driving that car I've been all for Mercedes Benz. haha So add that to the fact that I found my Mustang was becoming too much of a project, and I needed a car that could comfortably handle my commute to school every day, and I sold the Mustang. It needed quite a bit of work, so I was only able to get $1800 out of it.

So after hunting craigslist for a bit and seeing what models go for how much, I think the 190E seems like a cool little car that I can afford. As of right now, I have the $1800 to spend. I know about I'll be gettin about another $1000 or so in late october. I don't have to buy a car right away, but if I found a good deal, I wouldn't be opposed to pickin it up.

Now I suppose I should cut to the point. lol I need a good, reliable car, that if well maintained, could be expected to run for a while. I'm mildly hand with a wrench, and could do repairs, but I don't wanna do another one every week. I've read through all the stickies on here and done quite a bit of research, and I feel like the 190E might fit my criteria, but if anyone has any objections, lemme know. haha Also, I'm wondering what I should look for, or expect. And how skeptical should I be of low prices? I live in the tampa, florida area, And I saw a couple listed for about $2000 and I'm just wondering if it seems like a fairly normal price for these, or if they probably have something majorly wrong with them...

1993 Mercedes Benz 190E

1989 MERCEDES 190E METALIC GREY

From the pics they look really good for the price, but pics can lie. haha I guess in a nutshell, I'm just really interested in these cars, but I could use a 101 crash course in the subject of buyin them, and havin them. Hope that's not asking too much! Thanks for any help.

Not much to go on since only four pics. I would see them in person, check panel gap, rust, oil leaks... See how they drive.
Wheels on the 89 look like crap

Oh yeah, I'm definitely gonna check them out further. I just wanna know if there's like some model specific tells that I should look out for or anything. And yeah, I don't know why they got the old bottle cap wheels on it. haha
