Cool Some Questions

Hi all,

I just bought a 87 190E and have some questions. It's a german model and spent most of it's life in Germany prior to coming to Canada.

1. The fuel (and sometimes the speedo) fluctuate, think it's a bad ground? What else coud it be?
2. Cruise control, how the heck do you get it to work? It's all in German and I haven't got a clue on how to set it.
3. Any sources on getting an owner's manual and a workshop manual (preferably a cd) would be appreciated.
4. How hard is it to replace the dash (cracked in several places). I have junkyard sources.

Thanks!

190e stuff

A bouncing fuel gauge is common. I have seen that a lot in the 190e model. I have not heard if anyone has a fix for that.

Look on Ebay for manuals and CDs.

The cruise control lever moves just like the turn signal lever. Push it up to the right to turn it on and all of the way to the right to set your speed. Don't expect too much from it. Most do not work very well.

You can get dash caps that cover the whole top of the dash board or get a cloth dash mat. It might be a bit of work to replace the whole thing but might be worth it if you get a good one from a slavage yard. It depends on how mechanically inclined you are.

Re: 190e stuff

Thanks, much appreciated.

I have found some sources for junked MBs in Canada through car-part.com, which is an excellent source for parts.

I've ordered a couple of manuals through amazon.ca, and will check ebay.

On the dash caps, any links that you can supply?

Thanks again!
