Sunroof jammed in open position. 190E 2.3-16

Today, while running the car, the sunroof was opening just fine, but it never closed. I tried manually closing it through the emergency mechanism, but the plastic hex bolt sheared off..... which leaves me in a rather bad position..... I do believe the car is sending power to the motor, and I checked the railings in the sunroof for obstructions, but there are none, since it opened all the way back.... could it be a switch problem? If so, how do I take out the switch?

if you think it's the switch pull down your entire switch unit from the ceiling and jump out the pins after you find your ground with a multimeter to see if you can get it to close for the mean time...then take apart your switch, clean the contacts and reassemble w/o losing any parts all else fails go to the local JY and find another switch from another 2.3 and toss it in

You can also close it manually from the trunk left side access panel per Owner's Manual on my 93
