Hello!

I recently purchased a 1992 190e and am super stoked on it.

The car only needs a new head gasket, water pump, thermostat, transmission, rear main seal, rear shocks, all new cooling hoses, spark plugs, a proper (O.E.) muffler, and a good washing.

I got the head back from the machine shop this week (with new valve guides) and installed it last Saturday along with the water pump and thermostat. Unfortunately I lost one of the cam spacers during removal so I was unable to put the cam and lifters back in.

Next weekend I'm hoping to have the engine up and running and hopefully do the rear main and throw in the replacement transmission if time permits.

Has anybody done a transmission replacement on these cars? It looks pretty straight forward, but any tips or advice before I get started would be greatly appreciated.

I'll try and post up some pictures of the progress tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

Well the work on the 190 has been much slower going than I anticipated due to an overwhelming "actual" work load. But I managed to snap a few pictures earlier this week
