Anyone repaired the Bridging vinyl on the later door trims?

1984 190D
Anyone repaired the Bridging vinyl on the later door trims?
My next to perfect 1990 190E 2.6's door trims are bugging me...
The vinyl is shrinking/bridging on the arm rests.
This seems to be a common problem on these later models as all the Junkyard trims are the same...
Anyone fixed, reattached, restretched these?
