help My key wont turn in the ignition anymore. Does any-one know how to get the ignition out without being able to turn it. The service manual says it's real easy to take them out, Just turn the key to position one and use the little 2 mm wire and poke it down in the holes. The only problem is that I can't turn my key to position one. Any help in this matter would be greatly appriciated, especially by my wife, since it's her primary car.
Peace, Deadhead

Sounds like your ignition switch went bad. If you catch it in time while the key still turns, it is a $75 repair. Once it is stuck then it becomes more costly.

This may sound stupid, and you may have already tried this, but.....
Did you try turning the steering wheel to make sure it is in the proper position to allow you to start the car. Some cars require that the wheel be "Locked" into place before the car will start.
(My grandmother actually had her car towed to the dealership because it wouldn't start. They turned the wheel a few inches and it locked into position, and the car started right away.)

Same thing happened to me, I ended up taking the top steering tube off and removing the whole ignition switch with a chisel!!! (my steering lock was on ).
The breakers I use said this was very common and they sell lots of barrels. If you're lucky you may be able to jiggle the key enough to get it to position 1, then you will only need the barrel.
