1991 190E 228K - Replace or dunk radiator?
Over the past few years I have put posts out here regarding how my 190E heats up (except in winter) standing stiull/slow traffic after it has been run on the highway. Ive tried multiple flushes, water wetter and other approaches to help with cooling...so after 228K miles I think Im ready to take the next big step.
I was curious if I should take the radiator to a shop for a complete dunk cleaning or just replace the radiator. Don't know where I can find a new one but Im sure my mechanic can locate one.
Any steer on next steps and/or pricing would be welcome...I'm likely going to try the replacement route as this car will be likely my daughter's high school ride!

Presume you've also checked/replaced thermostat and verified the fans are working properly.
Thermostat and water pump (my second!) replaced last year....fan does come on ok. Overall the temps are good except in hot weather if it is standing or moving slow; points to a heat transfer issue which usually means the radiator is at fault. Many hot ATL summers and Ohio winters have no doubt accellerated the degradation....
If it was just going to be my airport car I would leave things as is...but with the prospect of my daughter driving it I need to get the cooling issue resolved.
Thanks! Will report back how things go
