Alternate manual transmission for 2.3 16v?
Hello
I am looking for an alternate transmission to use on my 1986 cosworth cosworth. Has anyone used a BMW getrag or any other 5spd/ 6spd transmission? Since the cossie transmission is difficult to find, and not good for 300 hp, I want something that would work with stock ECU.
Any responses will help. I've read this: http://forum.190rev.net/showthread.p...56-and-a-Turbo
but did not offer much help.
Thanks
Gus

Don't know about alternatives, but if cost is no object, check with a dealer - as recently as two years ago M-B had a stock of rebuilt 5-speed transmissions for the 16 valve in Germany. Not cheap (around $4K with core),
