84' 190E Overheating.

My 84' 190E seems to be overheating lately reaching 100+ temps. About 6 months ago.. The car was not being taken care of probably and was in horrible shape and was also overheating. Looking under the hood it was very obvious that the water pump was leaking BADLY and some leaks were coming from the radiator as well ... Since i was taking the car off my parents i decided to get it back in shape a bit. So i took it to a mechanic where i got the water pump replaced and got the leak of the radiator wielded. For the last 6 months the car was running with pretty much perfect temps and was rarely going above 80. Just two weeks ago i started noticing the car overheating again. However this time i am seeing no leaks from the water pump nor the radiator.. I am seeing small oil leaks on the ground under the hood. I am not sure if that has something to do with the overheating or if its just a side problem.. So basically here i have no idea whats overheating it.. What do you guys think??

TLR version :

Car Overheating(100+). New water pump. Radiator probably not the problem. Small Oil leaks found on the ground under the hood.. Any ideas?

1. Check condition of radiator fan. Radiator fan clutch ok? 2. Do you get high temps when aircon is ON? If so, check the twin fans next to front grill. 3. Check electrics of the radiator fan, especially relay. If relay faulty, you get faulty electric feed to the fans.

It overheats even when the AC is off. I rarely use the AC actually since its not working correctly. Also, What exactly should i be checking about the radiator fan? It seems to be rotating fine.. I am not sure how it would not as its hardwired into the engine?...I don't have much ( if any ) experience with cars so if u can elaborate a bit more i would be thankful

Edit : What i am trying to say is that the radiator fan is connected with a belt to the engine.. Its not an electric one thus its always running when the engine is running.

The fan has a clutch system to engage it. When it engages it sounds like a semi at any significant rpm. This comes on at 100. Electric kicking in at 110. Remove the air intake box and there will be a plug that connects to a sensor on the manifold directly above the water pump. There is a 3 prong and a 2 prong. The 2 prong is the electric fan switch. The 3 prong (two things plug in, a single and a double.) if you pull the 2 post plug, leaving the single plug still connected to the sensor, and use a piece of speaker wire to jump the plug holes on the plug you just removed, the fan clutch should engage indefinitely when the engine is running. If it doesn't engage either the fuse is blown, or the fan clutch needs replacement. If it does engage, the sensor is bad. 50$ from the dealer on the sensor. 100$ fan clutch, fuse is cheap. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply , Mate. It clarified a lot.I actually took it to a local mechanic here that is near my home.He pretty much did exactly what you said and we concluded that the fan clutch needed replacement. After the new one was installed everything worked fine now. It does not go above 80C even in very slow traffic.

Thanks for helping tho
