190D radiator ?
Hi everyone!
A couple of months ago I bought my first car, a 1987 Mercedes 190d 2.5 (diesel). I love this car. It's true what they say - the w201 puts a spell on you
Anyway, back to my problem. Its radiator leaks coolant/water. I have found another one but it comes from a 190E 2.3 (gasoline). In terms of size, the gasoline one is smaller than the diesel one.
Would it work if I installed the gasoline radiator on my diesel car?
What should I do?
Note: I'm thinking about a DIY solution as this is my first and not-expensive car.

The radiator from the gasoline version of the W201 Chassis 190 will not work with the Diesel versions of the 190, In fact, since your car is a 1987, there are two different radiators available for your car. In 1987 there was a non-turbo version of the 190D as well as a turbo version of the 190D. These two cars did not share radiators with each other, let alone the gasoline 190E.
If you have a 190D 2.5, you can find the radiator HERE.
If you have a 190D 2.5 Turbo, you can find the radiator HERE.
If you replace the radiator, be sure to have enough coolant (that meets Mercedes-Benz specifications) and distilled water to re-fill the system. The coolants that meet MB specs are available HERE, or by clicking on the photo of the Mercedes-Benz coolant container below.
